Message From General Secretary
Dear Members and Colleagues,
I am delighted to address you all as the General Secretary of the Advanced Society for Headmasters and Headmistresses (ASFHM). As the principal apolitical organization for approved Headmasters and Headmistresses in Government-Sponsored/Government-Aided educational institutions, we continue to serve and promote the educational purposes of Secondary and Higher Secondary schools and madrasahs throughout the State of West Bengal.
Our organization has always been committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of our esteemed members. Today, I would like to highlight some key demands that we have been tirelessly working towards achieving.
First and foremost, we firmly believe that our members deserve a fair and just compensation for their dedicated service. Therefore, we are actively pushing for a pay hike that reflects the invaluable contributions made by Headmasters and Headmistresses in shaping the future of our students and our society.
Additionally, we recognize the need for relief from non-academic duties in schools, which often divert our attention from our primary role as educators. By seeking a reduction in administrative and non-teaching responsibilities, we aim to create an environment that allows us to focus more effectively on our core mission of providing quality education.
To facilitate our professional growth and ensure that our members can perform their duties efficiently, we are advocating for traveling allowances. These allowances would enable us to attend educational conferences, workshops, and training programs, fostering continuous improvement and innovation in our schools.
Furthermore, we believe it is essential to establish a separate pay scale that truly reflects the importance and responsibilities associated with the positions of Head of the Institution. This recognition would not only elevate our professional standing but also serve as a testament to the significant role we play in shaping the educational landscape of West Bengal.
I am pleased to inform you that our collective efforts have garnered respect and attention from the State Government. By effectively engaging with the authorities, we have been successful in influencing policy changes and rectifying orders that have had an adverse impact on our members. This success demonstrates the strength of our organization and its ability to champion the interests of Headmasters and Headmistresses.
In conclusion, I want to express my gratitude to all the members of ASFHM for their unwavering support and dedication. Together, we have made remarkable strides in advancing our cause and improving the professional environment for our members. I encourage you to continue working together, as we stand united in our pursuit of a better future for education in West Bengal.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
[Chandan Maity]
